How pretty for this time of year. We're hovering around freezing, with a few flakes today, and apparently the snow will come on the 25th. I will likely see it as we head into the clouds, alas.
ReplyDeleteWhat magnificent photos, I especially like the one of the two boats together, looks like they are cuddling together for warmth :) Very cold here just lately at -5 and on Wednesday we have been promised -7 to -9c

ReplyDeleteWell I never Anne Marie, I never imagined we would have snow before you there in Toronto. Here in Rotterdam the snow is so thick it's causing major problems. We've had about 25cm's which is a lot for the Netherlands
ReplyDeleteThanks you Mr Heron, yes, the boats are locked together by the ice and snow. Where are friends are, it has been exceptionally cold at -18. They were going to come and visit us by water, but it looks very improbably now. I think we will be visiting them by car instead!
String, there's nothing more beautiful than a thick coating of frost against blue skies and bright sunshine. I'd rather have that than the inconvenience of these heaps of snow any day.
Beautiful photos - snow always looks so pristine / clean - it is going to be 35 degrees Celsius all week here

Of course, a snowman is in the making - kids will be kids no matte where they live and snow is snow!

ReplyDeleteIt seems to be the same amount of snow we have here. I don't think you will get any more of that white stuff, at least not for some days.
We are receiving a lot of it just now at the very moment I'm writing and more is to come the next few days. I have sharpened the snowshowels and checked the brooms :)

ReplyDeleteHans, these photos were taken on Sunday. There's been a lot more of it since then. This morning it was thawing vast, but now it's snowing again...grrrrrr.
"I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" but apparently AM and I won't be experiencing one this year as the day calls for 5C with rain. Not bad news for AM who will be jet-setting south on that very day. Also, not bad for me with guests driving in for a visit or for the next day when I'll be installing two brand new basement windows in warmer than usual temperatures.
ReplyDeleteActually we've only had one day of snow (that's all melted). It was the event that AM was bragging about as her neighbourhood only received rain that day. Yes, I was thinking about that when I shovelled my driveway!!! ;-)

It seems as though the ice and snow has fallen all across Europe now. I only wish there was more light during the day so there'd be more time to capture the winter with the camera. Right now it feels like there's very little of the day left by the time you've got your morning coffee drunk.

It's New years Eve and further cold weather forcast, wishing one and all a happy and prosperous new year and looking forward to warmer skies. Where we are there is no noise except the wildlife and the cracking ice on the dockside Brrrrr.

I'm so happy that we got back in time to experience some of the snow in Holland. There was snow in London but everyone just panics when it happens there.
