RIVERGIRL: books, blog and barges: My posts are mini-memoirs about about life on a barge, our travels and the Netherlands. Oh and sometimes about my writing.
oh my god val and koos this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me! it has made me cry with joy that i have all you lovely people in my life...a big massive thankyou from my heart...xxxxxxxxxx
just had a good look im so chuffed here..lovely pics of you and koos and dale and her children..sin anne marie mary beth..neil...the bloggy cats..lol...I LOVE IT!..i have a big smile on my face...xx
Wow - you really have a lovely, close community here. What a great thing to do.
Thanks for popping over to mine and leaving the note about Black Books. I guess reactions to swearing are different - some families I know are horrified that my children (who are lovely, I promise), listen to Billy Connolly, yet happily take their own to see extremely violent films. I just don't get that.
Apparently the child-murderer Myra Hindley refused to watch Connolly on TV because he was so foul-mouthed! Ummm ...
However, I respect your values, and you seem far too nice to be in the same paragraph as either of them.
As for BB, glad you like it. Bernard Black is played by Dylan Moran; I agree - with that accent you can get away with just about anything!
Gypsy, my love, it was the greatest pleasure for both Koos and myself. Hoping you have a very very happy day, and of course, very best wishes to your brother Ken too...
Thanks to both Dale and Anne Marie too for their willing cooperation!!! She's worth it isn't she girls?
Margie, thank you very much too for your kind words! MY last words on the other subject (at the risk of becoming a bore), I take your point, I really do...ahem..Myra Hindly..right let's think about those double standards!!! Seriously, tho, I try not to ba anal (as my daughter would say) about it, and it's not to say I don't give vent myself now and then, but don't like to hear it used just as 'fillers'...
As Dale once eloquently said (and she has a way with words, that one), she's chosen to avoid it in her home to edncourage her kids to express themselves without it..I guess that's what I'm really aiming at, but enough said.. Each to his own, and it's a matter of choice!
Hey mamalama Back from the train. I have posted a diary but got very impatient with the net, finding it too difficult to upload my photo's right now. I love you lots and hope to speak to you soon! XXXXX Momo
What a lovely tribute. So, Gypsy is another Gemini... Oooh, I wonder how many of us are in here. Hmm. Nice theme for a blog, hehe.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I am honoured! I'm still in coocoo land after seeing The Who live at Leeds. So emotional for me... I have created a flickr album and the link is on my blog. My arms hurt after clapping on the air, like I was doing weightlifting exercises...
Val, you were so sweet to alert Dale's friends as to her distress. I'm so relieved to hear that Beth is safe, and I am keeping them in my thoughts.
I am slowly adding the last few chapters of the novel to my blog in the next two weeks, so that you'll have the complete works to slowly read while I am in Europe. I hope you like how it unfolds.
I enjoyed cruising through your blog. Fun stuff! Just turned 58 myself this week. I too was born in Rotterdam and did my kindergarten there. So I suppose I'm educated on two continents! I am married to a Canadian gal who has given me 3 children and we have 2 grandchildren. I'm working as a design engineer for a major multinational chem/plastics producerthat has a significant presence in Dordrecht. I only get back to Holland about once every 3 years mostly now to visit ailing relatives.
