It’s the end of the year and it’s been a very busy time on a number of counts. One has been finalising the autumn courses; another has been that I’ve had the Vereeniging on the helling again this past week, hence the tardiness of this blog.
A couple of months ago, I noticed a patch of rust on the waterline that needed to be treated before the rigours of the winter really struck, so I booked this week before remembering how cold it might be (see last post).
It’s been wet rather than freezing, but we all know how unpleasant damp cold can be. Still, the work is done! We can relax now till next year. I’m not writing more now as we have to arrange things for putting her back in the water, but there’ll be more later. Here then are a couple of photos of the yard and a Christmasy blur of the harbour. Enjoy your lead up to the festive season allemaal. I still have to do my Christmas shopping...
Happy shopping,Val ... and a brilliant 2019
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo! Are you going anywhere warm this year?
DeleteNot this time - the Sri Lanka trip in November will have to do this year.
DeleteAh yes, that was a bit special though, I agree!
DeleteHi Val - glad it was sorted out before you had a problem and that you can relax. Lovely photos - and have loved your posts of your comings and goings ... see you in the New Year and enjoy the festive spirit between now and then ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteBless you, Hilary! I’m so relieved it’s all over now. I’ll be catching up with you again too. A very merry Christmas to you over there in Eastbourne!
DeleteHow pretty and festive it looks on your harbour, Val. I hope you are having fun with your Christmas shopping. Meantime, it seems a boat is like a house - always something which needs attention or fixing! We are running about getting our place in order for our Christmas guests. Wishing you a joyous and peacefully beautiful Christmas Val. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Patricia! A very Happy Christmas to you too!
DeleteA good idea to sort it out before it becomes a pressing problem. I always think boats are like old cars, no sooner have you fixed one thing than another needs doing. I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Jenny. Part of me wants to leave things and hope for the best, but it's never a good idea. Christmas was lovely, thank you!
