Season's Blessings

Just a shortie before Christmas. I thought readers might enjoy a break from my usual ramblings, so here are some images of the Oude Haven at Christmas time, when many of the boats are adorned with lights. I think you'll agree it's a pretty enough sight for anyone.

Here's wishing you a lovely festive season, whatever your persuasion, and a peaceful, positive and prosperous 2014. But most of all I hope you have heaps of fun and pleasure in whatever you are doing because that's what life's about, and if it isn't, it should be :-)

Hilary, Lovely to know these bring back memories for you too. I didn't know they decorated the boats down there in Cornwall. It really is very pretty. I love to see them all lit up. Have a lovely Christmas and I hope 2014 is a good year for you and all of us!

  14. Ros, they are lovely, aren't they?

Hilary, thank you for the kind thoughts. It's been pretty bad over here, but just wind damage. In my little Zeeland cottage, half my garden wall has collapsed. It was covered in ivy and the wind just ripped at it until a whole section of wall came down. We were safe, but I am very sorry for those who have suffered major destruction and worse. This is a nuisance. a lot of work to repair and a cost, but not life threatening, so I count myself lucky! As for my barge, it's been rocking and rolling, but is otherwise fine! I think of all those poor souls in the Philippines who are left with nothing, or worse.

Happy Christmas to you both too, and yes, i agree Ros. Lets' all have a healthy and happy new year!
