RIVERGIRL: books, blog and barges: My posts are mini-memoirs about about life on a barge, our travels and the Netherlands. Oh and sometimes about my writing.
Thanks Janys! By the way I love your new profile pic...gorgeous! Funnily enough, my writing is also driven by blogging, because I've always posted chapters one by one on a special blog. The comments from readers keeps me going. Another fave saying (I'm full of training jargon) is 'feedback is the food of champions" ;-)
Great to have you back....even when it's just a few words now and then! It will grow again! And thank you for adding me on your blog, and for your (ehh Sindy's) comment! Im really happy that you and Koos are coming on the 11th to try some of my cakes :D See you then! If you don't have the address (anymore) let us know.. we'll send it to you! xx Simone
It's not the drinking I have a problem with darling - just the time to check in here properly! I'm glad you're finding the time to write again - do it as and when you can, and send me some time-management alpha-waves at the same time please. Miss you.
THANK YOU dear friends. I am still pretty busy with work, but it's not quite as stress filled as it was and now I do at least have a few hours to myself.
Some very good news came my way today about my writing. There is a publisher in the UK who is interested in both Watery Ways and the Skipper's Child. It is a small company and they ask teh authors to help with the marketing drive, but they carry the costs of publication and getting the work out there. I am absolutely thrilled! Now I have to get busy and send them copies of both books. So far, they've had the synopsis and teh first three chapters of each. Woohoo! It's not definite, but it IS a good start ;-)
It's good to hear that things are slowing down for you, Val. It sounds like it has been a bit of a tough go for you. Did you take on a bit too much all at once?
Good luck with the publisher! That is exciting news indeed. They are both excellent books.
Dale, yes, in a word. I'm still a bit overloaded, but in a week or two things will be a lot better. I must learn to say no...no.....no....no.. see I can get the hang of it if I try...
Both books are now on their way, so I'm holding thumbs...xx
