Just a little Green

Today was about dappled sunlight through green, green leaves. it was also about spreading green fields and tall, stately trees. In fact it was all about this land of Flanders which I am beginning to love so well with its quiet waters and sharp, rippling reflections; so, in the words of Joni Mitchell, here is a taste of Just a litte Green. For more, click on the link below which will take you to a Picasa slideshow, which I have just discovered thanks to Koos.

  1. That is Quality, VallyP. Beautiful, razor sharp, brilliant colours and a great atmosphere. And as I can testify, it's really all that, because I was there.

  7. Just a little green?
Wow, it looks as though you're drowning in green - and water.
Your photos really manage to convey how much water there really is where you live. I actually feel at sea level (or below...) when I look at them.
The crops with the trees in the distance remind me of Ontario farmland. It's far different than where I live.

My new post might manage to convey a totally different perspective!

    And Happy Birthday, Val!!

  9. Thank you all dear bloggy friends. I thought I would ignore my birthday this year, but it wasn't to be. Bless you all. It was a lovely day, and I was lucky enough to have sunshine too, plus a special ride on my Vespa...that is just soooooo much fun ;-)

Glad you all like the pictures. This time of year has so much..how can I put it? Abundance? Yes, that's a good word for it. I love it...it's almostvulgar in its opulence ;-)

  10. Verrry nice. Funny that when I saw the caption - Just a little green - Joni's song came into my mind. (she was a huge musical influence on me in the 70s). She wrote that song about the daughter she gave up for adoption. She named her Kelly (as in Kelly green). The meaning of that song didn't come to light until the adoption became public about 10 years ago or so.

    Happy Happy Belated B'day

  11. Lesley, that's just who I was thinking of too, and I also love the song. Joni Mitchell is one of my musical heroines and I've loved her music since I was 14. Thanks for the birthday wishes dear.

Grace, it was a lovely peaceful day, thank you.

  12. Vally, how stunningly, perfectly beautiful. There is an incredible "neatness" about this lanscape that is so unusual to my eyes, accustomed as they are to wilder terrain and less disciplined fields. it is amazingly peaceful. And that ladybird and fly picture! Wow.

Oh HELL! I have just scrolled down and read the other comments here - I can't believe I missed your birthday! I am mortified - you of all people! What was I doing? Not blogging, certainly, or I'd have seen this before. Vally my most wonderful bloggy friend, I am so sorry. I hope you had a fabulous day with better friends than me!

  14. A superb summer's peace in these pictures. I especially like the one which is also in this blog post, the second of the two. Such a harmonious composition, the line of trees and their reflections being the standout detail.
